The Slovak Embassy and Friends of Slovakia co-hosted an invitation-only Election Watch Party on September 30, 2023, to analyze the important parliamentary election in Slovakia that was held on the same day. Experts from both Slovakia and the US, including political analysts, election monitors, and mock election organizers, provided their insights into the election results.

“Slovakia @ 30” Slovakia@30 is a collaboration between Friends of Slovakia and the Slovak-American Society of Washington, DC (SASW) to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Slovak independence in 2023. Related posts and events:

The Friends of Slovakia (FOS) International Student Summits are off and running! Two successful virtual summits were held in 2021 and a third summit will occur in April 2022. All three events address the theme, “Challenges of Democracy.” The students, faculty, and expert guest speakers from past summits have all participated virtually due to covid-19 restrictions and will continue to do so for the third Student Summit.
