In partnership with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Washington, D.C., and the Slovak American Society of Washington, D.C. (SASW), Friends of Slovakia hosted the fourth event in Slovakia@30 Series, a conversation on “30 Years of Slovak Civil Society” with Zuzana Wienk.
Zuzana Wienk is an accomplished former journalist and current affairs writer, as well as a passionate civic activist. She co-founded Aliancia Fair Play in 2002 and now serves as its Executive Director. The organization is a Slovak watchdog NGO that encourages citizens to engage in responsible politics, promotes government transparency, supports judicial reform, and fights against corruption. Wienk has also been a member of the steering committee for Open Government Partnership since 2016. Recently, she became the director of Bystriny [Currents], an off-shoot of Aliancia Fair Play that supports and connects community projects and individuals.
