Alexandr Vondra

Alexandr Vondra is a Czech politician and diplomat who formerly served as a senator. He is currently a member of the European Parliament and belongs to the European Conservatives and Reformists Group. In the past, he has held key positions such as Defense Minister (2010-2012), Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs (2007-2009), Minister of Foreign Affairs (2006), and Ambassador to the United States (1997-2001). He also served as a foreign policy advisor to President Václav Havel from 1990 to 1992. During the Velvet Revolution of 1989, he played a significant role as the spokesperson for the Charter 77 dissident movement and a co-founder of the Civic Forum political group.
