Historic Moment at FOS: First Female Chair Elected at Annual Meeting

The Friends of Slovakia is thrilled to announce the selection of its new slate of officers following the successful conclusion of the 2023 Annual Meeting held on February 13th. This election marks a significant moment in FOS history as Martina Hrvolová becomes the first female chairwoman of the organization.

Martina Hrvolova

Martina Hrvolová, a Senior Advisor at the German Marshall Fund (GMF) of the U.S. in Washington, DC, brings with her over 18 years of invaluable experience in high-stake negotiations, policymaking, and program management in human rights, democracy, economy, and security. Prior to her role at GMF, Martina served as a Program Officer for Europe and Eurasia at the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), where her work focused on addressing global strategic threats, economic misconceptions, corrosive capital, anti-corruption efforts, and fostering private sector leadership in advancing democracy and markets. You can find out more about her background and accomplishments here.

In addition to Martina’s appointment, Andrew Rajec has been appointed as Vice Chairman, while Tom Skladony will continue to serve as the Secretary and Treasurer.
